Follow me for a moment. let’s go back to when humankind began. There were no businesses, vehicles, cell phones, rules, or even regulations. It was a time when the only thing to differentiate one from the other was the level of influence you had within a tribe. If you had influence, people would listen and follow. If you didn’t, you would follow the pack….regardless of the direction you were being led. Know who you are and what you stand for…otherwise you will wander aimlessly. Learn your blind spots and be able to recognize others with all their imperfections and blind spots as well.
If we break humanity down to the bare essentials, life is about what you believe, what you value, and how you share this with others so that they, too, might be willing to accept what you think and what you say. The creation of a tribe is based on shared vision and shared vision starts with the human connection of 2 or more people.
Isn’t effective leadership about this? Isn’t parenting children, mentoring, and even interacting with your best friends about sharing ideas and perspectives….and ultimately impacting the other person for the greater good?
We all have influence over one another and we remember those who have influenced us in a positive way. Are you willing to put time into being the best influencer you can be so that you can make a positive impact on others you interact with?
